All sizes of the Selbu sock blockers are connected to the LENGTH of your foot, rather than your shoe size. So, it is important to measure the length of your foot from heal to toe before ordering.

Historically, Selbu sock blockers were produced in relation to the length of the foot. This is in contrast to the modern sock blockers of today, whic can be disappointingly too small or too large when connected to shoe size.

So, measuring the length of your foot accurately is key!

Choose then the sock blocker closest to the length of your foot. We are currently producing the most common or average lengths of sock blockers.

Please note: Our Sock Blockers are produced in Europe and therefore production length is in centimetres.

Selbu Sock Blockers are made from 4 mm Norwegian Birch from the Trøndelag area of Norway. They are hand polished with 100% pure bee’s wax, so that they slide smoothly into your hand knitted pieces.

As the Selbu Sock Blockers are handmade of wood, with time and use, some areas may develop roughness. This can be corrected by a light hand sanding with a very smooth sand paper and applying bee´s wax when needed. Clean with a non-abrasive cloth if necessary.
