Thanks Jackie! Yes that is exactly how I’ve come to think about the repeats. It is about how many repeats of 10 you need (plus 1 end stitch) rather than how many repeats of 30 as pictured in the chart. Thanks so much for clarifying...we all think differently and your thoughts have really helped.

Amanda...I don't know if Patricia will see your question, but I will tell you what I learned: The pattern is a 10-stitch repeat and the chart shows three repeats for a total of 30 stitches PLUS the last stitch on the chart. Both the last stitch and the first stitch are "button-band" stitches, but the first stitch IS part of the 10-stitch repeat. The LAST stitch (button-band) is done ONLY at the end of the row. So...knit the first 10 stitches as many times around your row as needed and then knit that last button-band stitch. I just found that, depending on the size you are knitting, and therefore the number of stitches on your needle, assuming you will…
