Oh Patricia, I think I messed up. I picked up the gusset and went on my merry way. I am 3 inches into my foot now. When the instructions said to knit across the instep, I did that. I just knitted. Was I suppose to do a k2 P2 across the instep and just knit the gusset and the bottom part of the foot. The circumference of my foot looks so wide.
Yes only the picked up stitches through the back loop. Then knit normally.
do we only knit those picked up stitches, "through the back loop" that one time on the first round? Assuming we continue with just knitting after that?
I am really enjoying this bonus project!!
I usually stop the length of the foot allowing 5 cm for the toe.
