Greetings from the farm, Velkommen members, previous and NEW sponsors to the Traditional Guild offering for 2025, near and far! As we ring in the new year and 2025, we celebrate our second year of making in fellowship!!! Tusen hjertelig takk for your support, encouragement, and interest in the preservation and continued exploration of traditional Norwegian handicraft - following the seasons of the old farm wheel calendar.

Registration is now OPEN for interested participants in the 2025 Traditional Guild community offering. Note: You must register for or have access to the basic, traditional Norwegian course work as a prerequisite for guild membership. Registration contact information below. In a creative process, the maker is in a direct dialogue with the materials, their surroundings and with time. During 2024, our aim was to explore the affect of making in the past and our thoughts about its connection to the future. A large part of our 2024 Traditional Guild aims were to build a community where members could share, explore, create, inspire, gather, and answer this and other important questions in collaboration. We investigated a range of traditional hand work topics during each making season throughout the year. Further developing the phases of our traditional hand making journeys, from a sustainable, historic perspective. Grounding and connecting them firmly into a practical, meaningful, modern approach. As we explored a wide range of historic techniques, from traditional hand knitting, crochet, spinning, weaving, hand embroidery - just to name a few! We not only gained knowledge, but a unique insight into the rich variety of traditional Norwegian handwork approaches and applications, which are directly connected to the needs and seasons of everyday life.

Throughout the year, we immersed ourselves in these traditional skill studies and approaches, experiencing the joy of creating and celebrating the development and mastery of our historic handiwork skills, and purposeful making in beautiful fellowship! As a result of our 2024 explorations and our aims, the 2024 Traditional Guild Community has decided to continue our historic studies for a second year! Patricia's classes/courses/Guild have been an invaluable community to me. I have been with her since the first online course in September, 2020 and have learned an incredible amount of skills, techniques and new (to me) arts. Highly recommend ANYTHING Patricia has to share. She is knowledgeable, a skilled teacher and generous.

I‘m so glad this Community continues.

Patricia is such a dedicated teacher who helps you every step of your Knitting Journey. You might come for the intriguing norwegian stranded knitting but you stay because Patricia has to teach so much more.
