Hello Patricia, I’m really looking forward to knitting along with your support and connecting with other knitters too. I have just joined in and so am not up to date with your instructions yet! What is the pattern for the red mittens you knit for your daughter? I would like to knit my daughter a pair...she will graduate from veterinary medicine at the end of this year and it has just been announced there will be no ceremony because of the pandemic :( I’m really looking forward to the course! Thank you! You have obviously put a lot of time and thought into it.

I just picked up 2 selbu mittens books from the library and now have to decide on a pattern. So many beautiful choices! I will be using Briggs and Little wool, made in New Brunswick, Canada. Last year I made a lot of Saltwater mittens ( patterns from Newfoundland ) and I’m looking forward to learning some new techniques!
Tallie - Welcome! You can of course use your preferred method. But I hope the course will give you the opportunity to practice a bit with DPNS and improve your skills. Selbu mittens traditionally are only knit on DPNS. That’s the only reason I suggest it. There is no magic loop here. Just having a go while you have the support! :)
You mentioned that the traditional colors for Selbu mittens is black and white. Is the white supposed to be bright white or is a natural white okay?
