thanks so much for this introductory information! I've saved/printed up the vocab list but have set it aside while I work (!) on the genser montering.
I was in my LYS today (yay - I got out for an outing after a brutal past month of sciatica, sigh) and saw Tahki Yarn cotton classic lite -- really nice in-between sport/dk at 146 yds/135m per 50 grams. It is mercerized cotton: do I recall that we SHOULDN'T use it for our starting weaving project? (because it might be classified as "shiny"?) I know from experience though it makes great dish cloths for washing dishes! Hope this jogs someone's memory and I can get it out of my brain hah thx
The vocab list is very useful … will set up a boom for weaving. as I have borrowed my loom I’m not sure apart from the heddle what other bits I may need …will this be covered in the first few lessons so I can purchase anything missing.
As I shared, we will cover everything needed within the course. This week, there will be introductions...you will have time to organize everything needed before we begin weaving. Please make sure you are up to date with all posts around materials here on the blog. I have shared those and will share the rest during the intro lessons.
Thanks - you've already answered my first question - about what material to use (cotton or wool). Looking forward to the course!

My loom is all put together, and cotton arrived today, so I am all set and ready to go. Very excited about this class!
I am excited! My loom arrived and now I need to put it together — hopefully, this will be an easy task 😁. Thanks for having this course.
