Greetings from the farm,
Yesterday, I hosted a wandering through the forest and up to the top of the mountain.
What a beautiful morning it was!
As you can see above, these are the last few days and hours of sunlight.
Darkness is settling in now, and soon we will say goodbye to the sun for several months.
It is a strange type of sunlight this time of year.
One that you can sense is fleeting and urgent.
Tusen takk! to everyone that has contacted me after having received their traditional kofte bånd!
It was been such a pleasure to have had this bånd woven especially for my course and to collaborate with the mill.
Isn't it just lush and perfect!?
I was so happy to receive your kind feedback.
All of the work that went into organizing the knapper og bånd for this special piece within this course has been worth it!
Community Check in!
As it is the middle of the month, it is time for another open community check in session.
We will meet together tomorrow night -
Wednesday, November 16th at 20:00 (8 PM) CET wintertime
World Clock - Oslo, Norway
I will offer general support, as needed - but I kindly ask you to fill out the registration form concisely, so that I have the opportunity to prepare in advance.
I would also appreciate any updates around your progress.
We will also discuss...
Traditional Norwegian Band Weaving Wool and the current November Mini Course
the upcoming December Community Make - a - long - dates/activities
Knitting Bag Books/Reflective journals
And a few upcoming offerings that you might be interested in
For example, in advance of the holiday season and the wearing of folk costumes, I have been asked, once again, to teach a session of "flamming" or the traditional woven sock bands.
It is easiest for me to teach this locally and remotely, at the same time, if there is interest.
This requires a traditional wool kit from Husfliden - (these colours are certified within each region of Norway).
I will discuss this offering tomorrow night and if anyone is interested in a remote event.
It will be held on a Saturday.
I must get the wool kits organised and get them shipped out to you for the event, at the same time as I organise for local participants.
If you have any questions or topics for discussion during the check in session...pop those into your registration form and we will discuss those, if possible.
In collaboration with the mill, I must put a deadline on the Bergmannen's Datter yarn kits for those of you interested in knitting those mittens together.
You will find those original yarn kits within my farm shop.
I will share other news and updates during the check in!
Velkommen with interest....

Warmest regards from the farm,
