I may have missed this earlier in the course. Are traditional Selbu mittens knit in a fingering weight yarn? My first pattern called for DK so I am using Strikkegarn 3 tr but would love to try out fingering weight in the future if that is what was traditionally used. Thank you for your guidance!
This has been such a joy and I am so glad that I chose to join for my first knitting course. I accidentally knit 2 left handed mittens. HAHA But it gave me lots of practice on my tension which I was very grateful for. I managed to complete the R mitten and move onto the thumbs tonight, so almost on schedule. I have loved using the knitting bag book and do believe I will continue this tradition moving forward. You have been so lovely and I hope to join another class. I could listen to you do any podcast because your voice is very calm and soothing. I hope you are doing well! Happy knitting everyone.
You have worked out the best schedule for your upcoming courses! Always something to be working on, something to look forward to, and not too much at once...perfect! I have loved the mitten course, and you have given so much encouragement and support, and so much information in manageable chunks. I am still a few chunks behind, but I am hoping to finish my mittens just in time to start the sock course:) My wool arrived and the orange is, as you said, a beautiful coppery colour.... can’t wait to get started! Also, another participant mentioned gloves....I would love to do a Selbu glove course sometime too if you ever have time for one! Pelly
Hello, thank you and I do understand the reasons for having the advanced mitten course in January. Wise move! Looking foreward to finishing my mittens and on to the sock class :)
