Update for all course participants + Farm update!

Greetings from the farm!

I want to share a general update with everyone this evening.

It is around 21:45 (9:45 pm) here on Monday night (17.01).

We have just experienced a very powerful winter storm - with a lot of wind damage and a huge amount of snow fall.

After approximately 24 hours without electricity, it has finally been restored - within the last half hour to the Vassfjellet region - where I live.

Unfortunately, they will turn it off again at 11 pm throughout the night for addtional repairs.

This storm unfortunately caused the cancelation of our first Bandweaving Zoom Check-in and will delay our start into Module 2.

I will reschedule and we will make a start as soon as things stabilize.

It also means that deliveries have been delayed, I am behind with two days of work within my farm shop and with replying to emails.

It will take me a bit of time to get things back on track - as I have spent most of my time digging out and taking extra care of my sheep and the barn, without heating.

We are expecting more challenging weather tomorrow.

But for now, our Kofte Course 3+ Bonus Wiola Event will go ahead as planned.

I will notifiy all registered participants in the event of cancelation.

Thank you for your patience and understanding!

I will adjust and modify our plans as needed - but will reschedule make up sessions as soon as I can.

All will be well in a few days.

Above is a photo of my walk down to Selbu lake mid-morning - after a night of storming and a short break from the falling snow. A bit windy and cold...but beautiful and peaceful.

I hope that you are keeping safe and well in your part of the world.

Take care!

Warmest regards from the farm,

Patricia x

Please make taking care of yourself and your family (including the 4-legged members) your priority. I doubt delaying our course a week (or even two if necessary) will bother most of us. For my part there is always another knitting or weaving project waiting in the wings that would love my attention.

I hope the weather’s moderating a bit for you Patricia, and that work to repair the power grid happens quickly. We got out for a walk in the sunshine this afternoon… the 30cm of snow we got yesterday was so white and beautiful. Take care of your back! Mary.
