Farm Updates + Visual Seminar Registration closes today + Here comes the sun!!!!

Greetings from the farm,

Velkommen to February and the return of the sun!

Pure elation this morning and my most favourite time of the year!

Today, February 1st, is the last day to register for the Visual Seminar offering this month,

which begins this weekend!

I am unable to manage, manual, late registrations.

Thank you for your understanding.

If you are interested in information around this offering or participating you can read about it HERE

I have completed the presentation of the Merkelapp Mini Course.

I am looking forward to seeing many beautiful merkelapper in the future!

I am working diligently, and carefully, to finish up the hand winding of the

heritage, woollen embroidery kits, used within the course.

The last day to order an embroidery kit is Friday, February 3rd.

This is a one time, special offer, for this mini course only - as these kits are labour intensive

and take much time to prepare.

I am pleased, however, for you to experience the joy of embroidering with this traditional wool - so it is worth it! And, I love wool! :)

Tonight, I will hold a check in session as a reflective follow up to the traditional,

Norwegian Hals Mini Course.

Participants have received the link and password for participation!

Velkommen, if you have participated in the mini course and have the opportunity to join in!

Save the Date for Sunday, February the 12th!

As this is our Holiday, MAL, Prize Celebration!

We will celebrate our charity fundraising project!

I have received a letter of special recognition addressed to our community...which I cannot wait to share with you!

Traditional Genser Course - Påske 2023!

There is so much excitement and inspiration happening around our upcoming, spring/påske genser course!

We cannot wait to welcome new Friends within our community - eager to begin their traditional Norwegian stranded knitting journey!

Do remember that you must have registered and have access to my basic Norwegian stranded knitting course as a prerequisite.

This whole week I have been overflowing with inspiration by your genser sharing!

On Sunday - the 5th of February...we will, once again, reflect on the possibilites.

So bring your ideas and inspiration!

I will also share the sponsored wool discount I have negotiated for this course!

This year, the farm sorting hat will place participants into small groupings based on genser construction!

As traditional garment construction is our in depth focus for this course!

Old Farm Tea Towels Spring WAL

Information + sign ups are also coming on Sunday the 5th!

If you are participating, we will make sure that you have the warp plan to make a start.

We have plenty of time....but now it is time to make the final preparations for weaving together!

I know that many of you have already warped your loom.

I am looking forward to hearing how you are getting on!

This week I have been focused on Advanced Trad. Band Weaving and preparing to transition participants ready to move into this phase of weaving.

Once the advanced wool arrives, I will support the transition to weaving with the advanced wool - which can be found within my farm shop.

I have been working with the curator and digging into the archive!

I have also contacted intermediate weavers, to share their feedback, as I have a creative plan for moving those participants along on their traditional weaving journeys.

Despite the delay with the milling of the intermediate, heritage wool. :/

If you are an advanced or intermediate weaver...wishing to continue along with your traditional weaving, make sure you contact me - if for some reason you did not receive my direct communication.

Hopefully by summer and with the spring shearing season...we might have a chance to get back on track.

Facilitating the traditional band weaving is one of the most challenging and time consuming of my offerings.

I am just one person - so I really appreciate your understanding!

I am always so inspired by the enthusiasum of this group of weavers....you are what keep me moving and pushing forward to continue to offer these traditional weaving experiences.

Wonders or reflections...contact me directly or leave a comment...I will try to monitor them and get back to you as soon as possible.

More updates on Sunday!

Enjoy this day!

Warmest regards from the farm,

Patricia x
