Selbugenser Course - Children's sizes

Hello everyone!

For those of you that were interested in joining the Selbugenser Course by knititng a

child size jumper, I have some updated information for you.

First, one must remember that this pattern was launched in the late 70s/early 80s here in Norway. This was before the age of test knitting and tech editing.

With this in mind, there are some very interesting differences between the modern Selbugenser pattern and this archived children's pattern.

Differences that I do not have any answers or explainations for...and trust me I have tried to get them.

If you look at what they are asking for in this pattern...which has the same gauge, same needle size....etc.

The 10 year old and the 12 year old pattern is asking for approximately the same amount of yarn as the large women's size of the modern pattern. However the measurements are nearly the same for the small women's size.

???

Do have a good look at this information in comparison to the planning guide that I provided for you, based on the Adult size jumper.

12 year old: chest measurement 98 cm, length 60 cm, arm length 43 cm

- MC 350 grams/CC 200 grams

10 year old: chest measurement 92 cm length 55 cm, arm length 40 cm

- MC 300 grams/CC 150 grams

8 year old: 86 cm, 50 cm, 37 cm - MC 250 grams/CC 150 grams of wool

6 year old: 80 cm, 44 cm, 35 cm - MC 200 grams/CC 100 grams of wool

4 year old: 74 cm, 40 cm, 30 cm - MC 200 grams/CC 100 grams of wool

I am allowed to sell this pattern to you together with a yarn kit.

However, you will have to decide how you want to handle this for yourself.

A small kit within my shop should cover both the 10 year old and the 12 year old pattern

But if you feel that you want the extra skeins asked for within the 12 year old size...you can purchase those skeins seperately.

It is very important that you notify me within the comments of the order that you want the CHILD SIZE PATTERN. I really need a note about this to keep up with it and get the pattern ordered for you.

If anyone is interested in knitting the 4, 6 or 8 year old jumper, please contact me so that I can put together that kit for you.

I have located the pattern out of the archive and sharing this information is the best I can do to offer this option within the course. I hope that it helps.

Please register for the course first, contact me afterward and we will work this option out for you.

The knitting and the techniques are exactly the same...so you are very welcome with interest!

Warmest regards from the farm,

Patricia x
