The joy of coming home! Hjem til jul...

Greetings from the farm,

After delays, lost connections, and rebookings due to inclement weather, it was wonderful to finally arrive home and to wake up to the quiet of the farm this morning.

Simple routines and chores, softly falling snow, birdsong, and a walk in the forest are so far removed from the bustle of the city and outside world.

I had such an enriching and inspirational experience participating in the Nordic Handcraft Association and European Folk Art and Craft Federation's creativity and sustainability exhibition this past weekend.

Such a wealth of knowledge within this group of creatives!

Our aim together was to demonstrate and to share collectively how beautiful, practical, traditional, handmade creations and gifts can contribute to a sustainable society.

Unfortunately, due to travel delays, I did not make it home in time for our weekly, Wednesday Check-in session.

But I am looking forward to coming together during "romjul" - the in between days - returning to our make-a-long activities and to our courses.

I am also honoured to represent our Knitography Farm Make-A-Long event within the Kirkens Bymisjonen's open celebration on "Little Christmas Eve" tomorrow night!

The official start of Christmas in Norway.

After Christmas, there is much inspiration to share, our kofte to finish, and a second pair of mittens to knit, in which we will apply all of our new knowledge.

Not to mention, the wonder of a whole new year of traditional making ahead!

We gather together again, beginning on Monday, December 26th.

For now, I wish each of you en riktig God jul!

Vi tenner fire lys i kveld og lar dem brenne ned

For lengsel, glede, håp og fred, men mest allikevel for fred

på denne lille jord, hvor menneskene bor.

Now we light the four candles and allow them to burn down.

For longing, happiness, hope, and peace.

But most of all for peace on Earth, where all people, live together.

Warmest regards from the farm,

Patricia x
